Pallas go-Karting and Paintball
In March, All of our TYs attended Pallas Go-Karting and Paintballing. Starting with Kart racing around the 1500 metre track, we then went to the battlefield to shoot it out with each other. Great fun, despite some bruising, was had by all.

TY Derry Belfast Trip
From the 26th-28th of February over 100 TYs went on the annual trip, which was to Derry and Belfast this year. The learned about the history and culture of The North of Ireland. Safe to say an Incredible time was had by all!

Dundrum on Ice
On Tuesday the 2nd of December TYs went Ice Skating in Dundrum. First they went shopping in Dundrum Shopping Centre, before going to the ice rink. A great day was had by all!

Dublin Barista School
In March, Dublin Barista School visited Athlone Community College and showed our wonderful TYs how to be Baristas and make great coffees. All six of the class groups did workshops over two days and learnt about the history of Coffee, and made Lattes, Mochas, Cappuccinos etc. Definitely a very helpful skill for the future.

Christmas Market
On the 18th of December we staged the annual Christmas Market. There were over sixty stalls set up around the Sportshall selling lots of different products. A super day was had by the whole school community and a lot of money was raised for the Esker House and South Westmeath Hospice charities. Jenny Woods Driving School
Jenny Woods Driving School visited the six class groups during the year showing students how to drive a car, car maintenance, rules of the roads etc. With many of our students hoping to do their theory test soon this was a valuable learning experience.

Kairos Communications
Over the year TYs visited Kairos Communications in Maynooth. They got the opportunity to record a television show with pupils taking roles as actors, camera operators, directors and backstage staff. Great fun had by all students.

Thank You for the Musical
From the 22nd to 24th of October the students of ACC held the Musical, Thank You For The Musical in the Dean Crowe theatre. TY students were very prominent in the staging of the event from set design, backstage crew, props, performance, ticket selling, ushering, etc. The show was a great success!

Lilliput Adventure Centre
In October the TYs visited Lilliput Adventure Centre. There they engaged in activities such as rounders, rock climbing, orienteering, and bog jumping. Despite going home dirty and tired, the general consensus among the students that it was a great day out.
